We did it! The new Shoeboxed-QuickBooks Online integration is done and live and ready for you to start using!!
The new integration has way more functionality than our old one. For example, it has more export types – you can now export as Bills, Journal entries or Expenses, and you can also pick from automatic or manual schedules! Read more about the new export settings. It is also more robust and wipes out some of the bugs you were experiencing with the old integration.
If you have already been using the previous QuickBooks Online integration we had, you’ll need to re-link your Shoeboxed and QuickBooks Online accounts in order to get started with the new integration. We’ve put together a step-by-step guide with more information on how to do this. We have a migration process built in for migrating accounts, and a few things will happen automatically as part of the process when you first link your accounts. Your previously exported receipts will have the ‘Exported’ category added to them, so that it’s easy for you to visually identify as yet unexported receipts. We will also save a copy of your old rules to file. If you’d like a copy of these, or you’d like us to apply these rules to your Shoeboxed account, please do let us know.
Your Chart of Accounts will be added as Shoeboxed categories to your account. The big difference to the export workflow now is that a Chart of Account category has to be added to a receipt for it to be exported to QuickBooks Online. So the rules that used to sit on the old export page will be created and listed in the Manage Categories page.
